Fall is here, right?

Hello beautiful,

Just when we thought we had a mild summer, Austin decided to say, "hold my pumpkin spice latte," and gave us one last scorcher.

But finally, fall is upon us—or at least it will be on September 22nd at 7:43 AM, not that anyone’s counting!

In this newsletter, you'll find:

Got an event idea? Let me know! I’m open to anything from medical meetups to wine tastings.

This month, we’re highlighting Amy Lozano, founder of Forsythia Florals. Not only does she run a successful floral business while serving as Head of Customer Service at tech company AppSumo, but she also manages a busy household with two gorgeous girls.

How she does it all is beyond impressive—she truly does as flowers do: grow beautifully.

Amy collaborates with North Austin Oncology for charity work and is deeply rooted in the Austin community. She consistently puts her clients' interests first.

If you're searching for a local florist, Amy is not only an amazing human but also incredibly meticulous in expressing her passion for beauty through flowers.

Give her a follow on Instagram here and book her for your next event!

Research Phase

Last month, I traveled to Japan, and it was a life-changing experience. It was another planet that gave me a new perspective on culture, customer service and skincare. Here are some key takeaways I'm excited to implement or reinforce:

Key Takeaways

1) Punctuality. Everything in Japan runs like clockwork. We strive to do the same at W&B, although sometimes it’s tough when appointments run over due to important questions. However, we do our best to stay on schedule because we value your time just as much as you value ours.

2) Community. Japan's collective culture is all about looking out for one another, which resonates with our mission at W&B. We want to be more than just a business—we want to foster a community that promotes growth for everyone who interacts with us.

3) Quality & Transparency. From hole-in-the-wall eateries to Michelin-starred restaurants, quality is paramount in Japan. Transparency is key too; they have clear signage about policies, standards, and pricing everywhere. This is something we fully embody at W&B—no surprises, just quality care.

4) Skincare. Forget about the stores with a million skincare products reasonably priced, people in Japan also prioritize "free" skincare habits—like UV protection. And I don’t just mean wearing SPF. Soooo many people in Japan use UV umbrellas, which provide better protection than SPF alone and make your immediate surroundings up to 15 degrees cooler!

5) Be a good human. This one speaks for itself, but it’s always worth a reminder.

Long Flight Travel Tips

Hydrate Inside and Out: Drink plenty of water before, during, and after the flight. Use a hydrating facial mist or lightweight moisturizer to keep your skin fresh.

Skip the Makeup: Go bare-faced or use minimal makeup to let your skin breathe.

Don't Forget the SPF: Even on a plane, UV rays can penetrate the windows. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF to protect your skin from potential sun exposure during the flight.

Pack Sheet Masks: Bring along a hydrating sheet mask to use mid-flight for an instant moisture boost. It's a quick and easy way to pamper your skin without taking up much space.

Keep Your Hands Off Your Face: It’s easy to touch your face out of habit, especially during long flights, but airplane surfaces are not the cleanest. Keep your hands away from your face to avoid transferring bacteria and oils that can cause breakouts or irritation.

I'm offering free consultations for as long as possible. Take advantage of this opportunity without any pressure or commitment—I want you to learn about your options in a relaxed setting. And that approach will never change!

Last month's contest was to reply with your favorite country to win a Japanese mask, and only 8 of you entered. So, guess what? You’re all winners!

We got submissions ranging from Guatemala to Mozambique—travel is truly amazing, isn’t it?

If you haven't already, come pick up your at-home mask next time you're in!

For this month’s contest, reply with your favorite skincare treatment and the results you’ve seen. We’ll pick 5 winners to receive a free post-care mask after your next IPL, Microneedling, or laser treatment.

Remember Nesha from Chicka-d, who we highlighted as a Woman in Biz? We’ve partnered with them to create some fabulous swag for our long-time members!

I own several of their sweaters and they are super comfy! I wanted our swag to be stylish and something people would actually wear, so we kept the branding subtle.

These sweaters should arrive the first week of October, just in time for the cooler weather.

They won’t be for sale; instead, they’ll be a special gift for any member who’s been with us for more than a year!

That wraps it up for today and remember to follow us on Instagram.

Stay beautiful,

Jennifer Quesada, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC

PS - Don't forget to reply to your email with your favorite skincare treatment + pics of results to enter the contest.
